To celebrate Christie’s Classic Week Sales, we hosted a Lates event, exploring Old Masters and how contemporary art (New Era) has been influenced by them. The event included several talks including a panel around scent and paintings, with Penhaligon’s and Artphilia and a panel discussion with founder of the Mougins Museum of Art, Christian Levett. The night also had a live violin performance, demonstrations with artists influenced by Old Master practices, exhibitions and a Sipsmith Gin bar.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the marketing team to meet deadlines for promoting the event

  • Being the main contact for all suppliers and participants and collating details needed from them ahead of the event

  • Managing the event staff on the evening by giving clear instructions and briefing them beforehand

  • Working with security, facilities and the wider operations teams to ensure the event goes to plan in a safe manner

  • Designing the registration page and responding to guest queries

  • Creating a full schedule of the day and delegating roles out to the team to manage time on the day of the event

  • Creating an operations form and risk assessment to ensure every aspect of the event has been planned out

  • Working with the incoming goods team to ensure works were successfully transported in, in time for the exhibition install

  • Coming up with the most effective way to control the level of people in the building and queues outside
